Chiang Mai, of all cities in Asia, probably offers the best and most easily accessible range of sporting facilities, set in the most pleasant surroundings.
In 1996 the South East Asian Games were held in Chiang Mai. To host this event and also to mark the 700th anniversary of the founding of the city of Chiang Mai, a magnificent National Stadium was built. This complex was constructed where sports of all kinds, from archery, shooting, tennis and swimming, to basketball, gymnastics and football were played.
These facilities are now available to individuals, clubs and associations at very reasonable rates
