The Ferry Crossing to Koh Chang will take about 20-30 minutes

Ko Chang lies just off the coast of east Thailand a few kilometers from Kampuchea (Cambodia). Ko Chang is reached by ferry from the mainland. Take a songthaew from Trat to Laem Ngop on the coast to get to the ferry. There are a number of ferries to choose from. Many people book already transport at Khao San Rd. in Bangkok and do not have to worry about it. If you want to go on your own go from Ekamai station in Sukhumvit road. There are aircon buses on an hourly base going to Trat. Once there, a pickup truck will bring you to Laem Ngop where the ferryboat to Koh Chang is waiting for you. Actually there are minibus services from almost everywhere nowadays.

There is a ferry timetable, but this seems to be very relaxed, ferries run continually throughout the day, so there is no need for concern, even waiting for the next ferry to arrive is a pleasurable experience, each terminal has its own little café, serving coffee or cold beer!
