Koh Samui has it own small, but well maintained airport, located to the north of the island, which is owned and operated by Bangkok Air, there are daily flights from Suvarnabhumi Bangkok, Pattaya, and Phuket, although the fares are higher than most other Thailand domestic routes, the short travel times compared to road and ferry travel make air travel to the island favourable and popular, (Bangkok to Samui 80 mins.)
Other flight opinions are to fly from Bangkok to Suratthani or even Phuket with ai Air and then travel overland to the ferry.
