Bangkok has a very good nightlife and offers the visitor something for every taste. Most places foreigners go to are actually located either near Silom Road, on Sukhumvit Road or between Siam Square and the World Trade Centre. With a range from classical dance to techno parties, there's always something happening. They also have restaurants, food stalls and night markets selling fake goods. Bars generally stay open till late, if not all night, and nightclubs usually get underway around 23:00. By law, all bars and clubs are supposed to close at 1 or 2 am (2 am for places offering dance floors and live music). The reality is quite different, however, as any visitor to the city will quickly find out.

Bangkok offers English-language movies, with Thai subtitles. Bangkok also has two orchestras and a cultural centre for those seeking more classical entertainment in Bangkok will not be disappointed. There is an English magazine (METRO) with all the information on what's going in Bangkok available in nearly every book-store in the above mentioned areas.
